playing with parts

Frame: 1995 Fat Chance Titanium (TFM 006)
Fork: Pace RC35 for now but will be replaced with a rigid black Tange fork
I took the Marzzochi Bomber out which looked to massive and the time beeing the Pace looks better.

Headset: Chris King no name
Stem: Control Tech for now but will be replaced by a custom Moots (customized by Kish)
Handlebar: Fybrelyte for now but will be replaced by a Titanium Kolo flat bar
Grips: not available yet but i would like to use some OURY grips

Brakes: Shimano XTR M900
Brake Pads: Shimano XTR M900
Brake Levers/Shifters: Shimano XTR STI M900

Front Derailleur: Shimano XTR M900

Some of these parts were intended for the Serotta TiMax but i want to move some parts over
Today i have bought a silver Paul front derrailleur and i still have a silver rear Paul so i will use these for the Serotta build.
I do not want to use them on the Fat because the fat will be the rider of the 2 and i just trust the M900 gear more in action.
And because i like the look of complete groups i will be using the STI's on the Fat and move the Paul Thumbies to the Serotta.
Now i have to find some Paul levers to complete that.
With regards to the brakes on the Serotta i want to use the NOS Control Tech cantis i have available.
I have been thinking about Onza Hola's or Onza Ho's bt these CT's are just more special and will look good on the Black and White build, completed with the Syncros Revolution cranks.

Finally - Fat Ti(me)

According to the track and trace site form the local postal service the Fat will be delivered tomorrow.
I do not want to get my hopes up but i looks like a delivery at last ! :)

All the M900 parts are in a beautiful condition but i might want to use them on the Fat because that one will be build to be riden and this Serotta to be pretty ;)

and it takes always to damn long!

Aaron send me the Fat over 3 weeks ago and it arrived at the Dutch customs on the 3rd of march,..
Since then i am trying to get the bike in, calling several times a week.
They promise me all sorts of things: it should have been delivered twice already but today the told me that it was released and will be delivered just after the weekend, i guess it will be Tuesday.
I really hope so ;)

In the meantime I have playing around with the paint program on the Serotta site to come up with a nice color scheme for the TiMax
I would like to keep panel style, i think it looks rather classy
This is one of the color scheme's i like myself:
- White Frame
- Clear Titanium panels
- Black with white outline decals
- black (stripe) accents between the white and clear Ti
- Clear titanium rear (only the wheel radius, rest white with the black accent stripes)

The true art of wheelbuilding

A couple of month's ago, well what do i say, i guess it is almost a year by now (how time flies) i bought a book ;
"THE ART OF WHEELBUILDING by GERD SCHRANER"

I intended to use the book as a guide to build a set of wheels of my own, back then for the Serotta ATX , using the Mavic Rims, the red Classic Chris King hubs (which are gorgeous by the way) and black DT spokes.
I read the book and made the right decission and use the pro's for the things they are good in,..and i'll concentrate on the things i am good in (which is not that much ;) ) and have the wheels build and don't touch them myself.



I guess the CK hubs are part of my "signature builds", some parts just end up of every bike, i have another set on the Serotta TiMax, silver hubs, Dt spokes, mavis ceramic rims

A few weeks back I bought a beautifull Fat Chance Ti (Which is still a customs GRRRR! ) from my new very good friend Aaron, a very kind bike addict, with a big bike related knowledge and impressive bike related group of friends.
Aaron also offered me a Chris King Pewter hubed wheelset which will be coming my way aswell in couple of weeks.



He told me who built the wheels and showed me a link to the master at work, and because i just love people who are so into their work i want to show the small clips of Pancho Herrera

Some Titanium goodies

Sometimes I ask myself if i am weird,..that i can enjoy such an normal thing as an nicely made seatclamp.
But look at this, isn't this pretty?
In my humble opinion it is a work of art, so elegant.

I also received an Titanium Seatpost today; a USE Alien
Nicely made, beautifull colour and a nice fixing head.
it is a bit more polished then the Titec stem but it looks fine to me, especially icw the Serotta seatpost clamp
